Our project was (most) of the interior of our 100 year old home. Lath and plaster walls, multiple layers of wallpaper everywhere. We had Cascade strip two major walls, refinish, and then paint them. In addition to walls, baseboards, picture rail, window casing, and some ceilings of many other rooms.

They had a sufficient crew, added members as needed to ensure a quick turnaround, and kept the place clean when they left for the day. Careful and efficient work. Pictures speak for themselves.

My only regret is not having them do more!

What an absolute pleasure it was having Sam and his wonderful crew work in our home for a week. (I miss them) The quality of workmanship, professionalism and care the painters demonstrated while working inside our home was exceptional. Our project was challenging with a lot prep work, and detail. Cascade painting was up to the challenge. The crew were pleasant and courteous, they worked well together as a team and finished the job early. I would not hesitate to do business with Cascade Painting and restoration. We have more work for them in the near future and look forward to having them return.

Cascade just finished two weeks on our property painting the exterior of our house, and my partner and I cannot stop talking about how glad we are we went with them. I spent a week researching contractors before I selected 3 to receive bids from. Using Yelp and Google reviews I cross checked about 10 companies using their license on the Construction Contractors Board site looking for lead paint certification, liability insurance, and whether they'd ever had to pay a fine or go to mediation with a client. The 3 companies we got bids from were looking good from those metrics and were all great in different ways, but I am SO glad we went with Cascade, and not just because their bid came in $6,000 less than the next lowest bid.

Sam is economical with words, time, and money. His bid came in so much less than the next lowest bid, not because he told us he could do things for less money, but because he was frank about things that, in his opinion, weren't worth the cost. For example, our back patio decking has been neglected for years and is beginning to rot, so we thought we'd repair it. The other two companies said, "sure, we can do that for you!", but Sam said, "we can do that for you, or you could get another couple years out of this deck as is, save the money you'd spend on repairs, and just redo it altogether when you're ready."

I would rather have someone with experience give me an honest opinion, even if it contradicts what I (with zero experience) want to do, than have someone telling me what they think I want to hear. This is a lesson I learned the hard way in the past with another contractor who said yes to several requests of mine that turned out to be bad and expensive ideas I now regret. If you want a contractor who will give it to you straight, from a seasoned and practical perspective, you're going to be hard-pressed finding someone better than Sam.

On top of that, his team always arrived on time, if not a bit early, were hard-working, cheerful, friendly, and truly a delight to have around. With both people in our household working from home, that counted for a lot. Justin and Tanner are expert painters, and it was clear Chris took pride in his carpentry. Sam told us when he gave us the bid that he had a low turnover rate, and his direct and competent manner is reflected in the team we had on site. It was great to know I could address any concerns I had not only with Sam, but with his team.

Lastly, do not miss the opportunity to get a color consult with Cascade. House paint will last for 10-15 years and it's hard to imagine what it will look like until you see it, so I was a bit overwhelmed at the start. I knew I wanted green for the main color and an orange door, but there are A LOT OF GREENS. Britney's keen listening and experience helped me narrow the field until I was ready to test paint samples with confidence, and I could not be happier with the result. She provided SO MANY templates so we could see how different color schemes might work and then sent me a box full of large swatches for me to comb through. Once I selected swatches from the box I spent about three weeks buying test pots and painting larger swatches and then, eventually, painting directly on the house. I agonized over my choices, but if Britney hadn't given me a jump start on it it would have taken me much longer. Honestly, the color consult was a bargain, I straight up told Sam they're not charging enough for it.

Choose Cascade if you prioritize direct and honest communication, want to get value for your money, and appreciate experienced contractors who take pride in their work.

Sam and his team did a great job with the paint in our new home. There were lots of leftover drywall holes and wall damage from the previous owners. The team made the walls look brand new, even patching up areas that had been done by someone else. The paint colors look great and the finish is amazing. It is clear that they took their time to make everything look great for us to move in and we couldn't be happier with the quality from working with them. We will definitely reach back out shoudl we want to do any new colors in the future.

Sam and his team did the exterior painting and trim on my house last summer. The price quoted was reasonable and fair. Unfortunately there was a little bit of blistering that occurred over this past winter. I emailed Sam about it and within a couple days he came back to my house and took care to fix the problem, covered under warranty.

We had a terrific experience working with Sam and his team. They painted the exterior of our house, including the trim, doors, and porch, and we couldn't be happier with how it came out. Sam was extremely responsive to emails and brought thoughtful suggestions and considerations to us throughout the project.

His crew is very professional, thorough, and took care to put our things back in order around our house every day before they left, which I felt was above and beyond.

We did have to wait a while for them to take on our project, but that wasn't surprising considering considering the shorter than usual painting season this year and that I bet they are in high demand. When we had initially selected colors, Sam caught that we had picked a trim color that was intended for indoor use only (and would have faded much quicker than other colors). We were able to change direction and find something that would stand the test of time.

I have an extensive garden and everyone was really careful and gentle around my plants. They covered my tomato vines while they were working near by and uncovered them when they were done. It was more than I was hoping for.

Their bid was middle of the pack. I was wary of the quality and professionalism of cheaper bids and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg to paint my house. The biggest downside was the wait to get them there. Other painters told me they could do my house in April or May. Cascade came out in July. I would do it again though. Amazing, amazing to work with.

Back in 1998 Cascade Painting and Restoration painted the outside wood siding and metal railing of our house. We were quite impressed at that time with their preparation work as well as with the actual painting coupled with a reasonable cost and excellent customer service.

So over the last 20 years (and as recent as August 2018) when we needed any paint job we called only Cascade Painting with the peace of mind that we will get the best quality work at the best cost.

This is the third time we have used Carl and his company for painting in our home. The first project was the exterior - everyone on the crew was so helpful, courteous, professional. We have had different painters and everyone seems exceptionally qualified and easy to have in your home. And the results are exceptional. So, for two interior projects (our kitchen and just recently our spa room), we didn't even get another bid. Just called Carl. They are just that good (and fairly priced)!

Carl and team worked closely with us to navigate scheduling and unexpected work that was needed. Our project entailed repairing drywall around 9 new can lights in a vaulted great room and 7 in the kitchen as well as painting the ceilings. The team carefully protected the areas while working and cleaned up daily before leaving. I would recommend them and use their services again.

This was a rough winter on my house. We had two leaks that required removing a lot of drywall, and some plaster. Once the root causes of those issues were fixed I had Cascade P&R do the repairs and painting to get everything back to normal.

Carl and his crew fixed everything flawlessly. You can't tell that there was ever any repair work done in the affected areas. Walls and ceiling are perfect, paint is perfectly matched, as well as the textures. They also replaced some hardwood flooring that had to be removed from a minor flood, and did a great job there as well.

Carl was really easy to work with, and his bid was quite reasonable. His crew was always on time and communicated very well over multiple days about what to expect, and when to expect it.

Fantastic work.

First of all, I called Cascade Painting and Restoration and they gave me the lowest price out of all the places I called. Some of the other painters almost doubled Cascade Painting's bid.

Once the price was set, I added on asking if they could also paint my closet doors after signing. That was no problem and the price didn't change.

Then, Cascade Painting recommended a "low luster" paint finish, rather than eggshell. This recommendation was totally on point and looks awesome. These guys know their product down to a detail.

The guys that came to my house were very nice and extremely trustworthy individuals that paid attention to every detail. They prepped, painted and cleaned, and also ventilated my house well as the paint smell wasn't oppressive.

From start (initial phone call) to finish (completely done), the process was about 2 1/2 weeks or so, which I find to be a reasonable duration for painting an entire house. Good job gentlemen.

I had a wonderful painting experiece with this contractor. One of the best in Portland. I had a series of painting challenges and wallpaper removal I needed done in my house and done quickly. Not only was it done fast but the work was done perfectly and at a great price. Carl was easy to work with and all his crew members were very professional. I would recommend this company for any type of painting restoration you need done. They are the best!!

After a winter snowstorm filled our attic with snow, melted, and came thru our ceilings, Carl's company, Cascade, was sent by our insurance company for the restoration and painting after the needed demolition and cleanup. We couldn't have been more satisfied, especially considering the number of other jobs that must have been pending. Carl arrived promptly, assessed what needed to be done, and had his work crew on site within a couple of days. The workers arrived on time, worked carefully and artistically when restoring drywall, and had to paint the entire 10/12 ft ceilings throughout the entire first floor to match.

This first experience with Cascade was particularly relieving as we had been in the new home a short while and I can say that Cascade left the home in better condition than the builder did.

So, when time came to work on the exterior of our home, I contacted Carl, along with others. Carl's response again was prompt. His knowledge and experience with different products was very important as our HOA had specified products that were now outdated. Again choosing to work with Carl we were able to select an appropriate product to cover a previously treated cedar siding. His work crew arrived when scheduled, all work was done in a workman like manner leaving the area neat and clean daily.

As our home was not constructed using any flashing over windows, it was important in my conversations with Carl to be assured that the calking was well done. "No worries"… the first day on the job I talked with the head painter who commented that the caulking was top priority.

I should note that in both the above instances, Carl, himself, arrived on site almost daily to review and check on the progress, discuss any outstanding issues with crew and me, and generally made himself aware of the work being done. I have had previous work done where the initial contact person was never seen nor heard from again… this was a pleasure. In the few cases where Carl didn't come on site, I usually received a phone call.

At my recommendation, a number of others in our neighborhood have contacted and contracted with Carl. All have been satisfied and, in fact, one neighbor who is now selling real estate calls upon Carl for jobs in preparing her clients homes for sale.

I can recommend Carl and Cascade without hesitation.

During a recent major plumbing repair (total interior water line replacement) on our 1980's home, many large irregular shaped sections of ceiling and wallboard were removed. Mike and Dale from Cascade Painting & Restoration, patched and painted all the areas. The repaired walls and ceiling areas are so well done, they can't be distinguished from the rest of the walls. They not only did an exceptional job on the repair itself, but protected all our hardwood floors, and adjacent rooms from damage while the repair work took place.
